Christian Schreiber Web Performance Consultant for Adobe Experience Manager and Magnolia CMS
Christian Schreiber is an independent web performance consultant based in Berlin. For large websites on Adobe Experience Manager and Magnolia CMS, he sets target values for the Core Web Vitals, measures them with Google's real-user data and signs off every release against them. Implementation remains with the client's development team.
Background: over 20 years of web development, over ten years of web performance
Christian Schreiber has worked in web development since 2005, with a background in business informatics. For over ten years, his work has focused on the load time of websites and portals. The first large platforms ran on Adobe Experience Manager: for two brands of a German car manufacturer, he optimized AEM pages as part of the client's Scrum team on the agency side. For several years, he has been responsible for the performance of a Magnolia platform for an insurance group.
Focus areas: Core Web Vitals on Adobe Experience Manager and Magnolia CMS
- Adobe Experience Manager Performance: Dispatcher, Client Libraries, AEM as a Cloud Service, Edge Delivery Services, the AEM Sites Optimizer, AEM 6.5 End of Support and performance requirements in implementation.
- Magnolia CMS Performance: the cache in front of the public instances, light modules, personalization, headless and the cost blocks of a Magnolia platform.
- Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift and Time to First Byte as a diagnostic metric.
- Website Performance Optimization with target values per page type and a sign-off that is separate from implementation, plus the freely usable templates AEM Performance Requirements Template and Magnolia Performance Requirements Template.
Publications: two Core Web Vitals benchmarks for the DACH region
Every quarter, he compiles two studies from the real-user data of the Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX), with a disclosed methodology and datasets under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license:
- AEM Core Web Vitals Benchmark 2026: 4,222 websites on Adobe Experience Manager in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
- Magnolia CMS Core Web Vitals Benchmark 2026: the first analysis of Magnolia, with 172 identified installations.
Tool: PerfDelta for monitoring and performance budgets
For ongoing control, Christian Schreiber developed PerfDelta, a tool for Core Web Vitals across multiple pages, with competitor comparison, monitoring and performance budgets. Which tools use which data source is described under Measuring Core Web Vitals.
Approach: set target values, measure, sign off
He works with companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, in German, remotely and on site when needed. The deliverables are target values per page type, prioritized tasks with acceptance criteria and sign-off of every release against these target values. The services are described under Web Performance Consulting, the collaboration with implementation partners under Performance Partner for AEM Agencies and Performance Partner for Magnolia Agencies.
